About 15 members met to ask and answer questions and consume refreshments. An interesting morning, especially after the visit to Northallerton last week.

A very interesting visit to Northallerton archive office. The group were very impressed with the work they do and they had taken time to find documents about Selby for us. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed it.

Our first meeting back, plus a committee meeting was a busy morning, with many conversations started, a bit of internet trouble, but all was resolved, thanks to Chris at Selby Town Hall.

Our last meeting before the summer break saw more treasures from Christine's attic, updates about links to lost families in Selby and a quick look at the launch of the Hebridean Isles, built at Cochranes shipyard. One of our members actually worked on building the ship! There is a clip on YouTube.

About a dozen members met to talk about research and exchange advice. Coffee was also consumed!

A visit from Tee Bylo, the Dead Sleuth, who told us about the Newstead family, who once had a connection with Selby. This talk was very informative and set off many conversations after the talk. We look forward to another visit from Tee.

A normal research and training session

Several members spoke about family members and their involvement in the war, from forestry work to firewatching, from munitions to sewing parachutes. A very interesting morning.

As a result of the Family Fun Day, we had some new visitors to our session, wanting to begin their family trees. It was lovely to see the room so busy!

Tony Saxton spoke about Women at War, and many other topics too! An entertaining morning with plenty of props to look at afterwards.

A research, training and copying session took place. Unfortunately, I was unable to attend, so I don't have any more information.

A committee meeting was held before the main meeting, a member-led session based on the recent Quaker talk. Jo and Caroline presented a wealth of information about Quaker records and how they have been used in research.
